Research Experience in the Management and Business domain

Summary:

In this talk, Dr Cang would like to share her academic experience with the audiences. This presentation is suitable for the audiences with either science or social science background. The talk has three parts. In the first part, she will present the UK SSCI journals ranking system in the business and management domain. In the second part, she will present some of my research from the science perspective, and the third part will briefly illustrate some common research methods from the social science perspective. At last, there will be some discussion on applying for international grants.   

报告人简介：

Dr Shuang Cang is a senior lecturer at School of Tourism, Bournemouth University. She obtained her bachelor degree with first class (China), MSc with distinction (UK), and PhD (UK) within three years; all are on Mathematics/Applied Mathematics. She has both academic and industry working experience, where she worked in leading Software Company, Research Laboratory, Government Department and Universities (e.g. Exeter University). She has wide experience in Data Mining, Artificial Intelligence, Pattern Recognition, Multivariate Statistics and Quantitative Analysis. Her tourism-related research interests cover tourism demand forecasting, tourist impact studies, tourism segmentation and heritage tourism. She has published more than 10 Journal papers with SCI/SSCI index and more than 20 international conference papers since 2009. Recently, she has been awarded three large European Commission grants with the total value of about 6 million euro and a number of grants from the other sources as principle investigator or co-investigator.
